Shannon Briggs Eating Wladimir Klitschko’s Pasta Is The Most Excitement Heavyweight Boxing Has Seen In 20 Years

Shannon Briggs proved that boxing’s heavyweight division still has a little life left in it.

In a recent confrontation conveniently caught on video — more on that in a bit — Briggs stormed in to the Hollywood, Florida-based Mamma Mia’s Italian Restaurant where Wladimir Klitschko was eating and confronted the Ukranian heavyweight (and current champ).

“Everywhere you go, I go champ,” Briggs said. “What you do, I do, champ.”

As an object lesson, Briggs helped himself to Klitschko’s pasta. Sensing the irate challenger might be thirsty, Klitschko then poured him a glass of water — and dumped it on his head.

After that, all heck broke loose and, NY Daily News reports, to the point that the altercation led to Shannon Briggs cutting his foot on some glass while Klitschko left unharmed.

Here’s the whole thing via the power of YouTube. If you’ve been following the heavyweight division for the last 20 years, we think you’ll agree that this is the most exciting things have been since Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson.

Now that you’ve seen the video, which is currently at 3 million views, let’s consider for a moment the authenticity.

While many boxers are impulsive enough to challenge each other in such a manner, something really stinks about this. For starters, the person who shot the video just so happens to start it at the right moment. We don’t hear Shannon Briggs say anything until the video begins. How did the videographer know there was about to be an altercation?

Life seldom happens with such great timing.

Furthermore, Briggs himself seems like he’s shooting a scene in an upcoming Rocky film, rather than a fighter with a legitimate personal issue.

Things do heat up when Klitschko dumps the water on his head and the dishes and table take a tumble, but even so, all of this could have been prearranged.

Not saying that’s what happened here, but something feels off about it, and many commenters agree.

“When the [expletive] did boxing become the WWE?”

“100% Fake”

“For sure.”

“Wretched show… Like a b****fight… It was all planned…”

“Briggs forgot to give kiss to the camera, FAKEEEEEE”

“So boxing has become a circus, great…”

That’s just a few of the doubters. You don’t have to look very far to find more.

What do you think, readers? Was this altercation legitimate, or as I and the majority of YouTubers believe, does it reek too much of being staged? Do you think Shannon Briggs deserves a shot at the title?
