Alexandria Chery: Body Of Missing Teen Found Decomposed In The Woods

Alexandria Chery’s body has been found according to her uncle, but there are still some conflicting reports about whether the decomposed female found in a wooded area is actually the body of Alexandria Chery.

The body was discovered on Friday in the woods near Osceola-Polk Line Road, less than one mile away from Interstate 4. Chery had been missing since Monday. She lived in an apartment with her mother in Florida.

The uncle of the deceased 16-year-old girl said a detective called family members and told them they had found Alexandria Chery’s body, Click Orlando reported. However, the Orange County Sheriff’s office had a different story:

“We have briefed the family of Alexandria Chery as they go through this agonizing wait. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time, but a positive identification has not been made at this time.”

Orange County Sheriff’s Capt. Angelo Nieves spoke about the case:

“I know there is obviously great anticipation trying to determine if it was Alexandria Chery or not. We’re going to go very slowly and very methodically in order to preserve all the evidence that is available to us here in this field.”

Sun Sentinel reported that the main suspect in the disappearance and death of Alexandria Chery is Sanel Saint Simon, the boyfriend of the victim’s mother. However, he has not officially been charged for those alleged crimes.

The 43-year-old native of Haiti is currently in custody at Orange County Jail on related charges, including attempting to destroy evidence and supplying false information to a law enforcement officer. Sanel allegedly cleaned blood splatters from Chery’s bedroom using bleach. Pillows, sheets and comforters had been removed from the bed. A pair of men’s underwear found beneath the teen’s bare bed smelled of bleach, and some of her belongings were missing from her room.

Although Sanel is supposedly an American citizen, there are questions about his citizenship, according to Sun Sentinel. The nature of Sanel’s citizenship issues has not been made known publicly. He reportedly speaks very little English, and a Creole interpreter has been supplied for court appearances. Although there are 30 investigators assigned to the case of Alexandria Chery, the prime suspect isn’t talking to them.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, another missing girl was found safe in a motel after a nationwide Amber Alert. Sadly, the case of Alexandria Chery doesn’t have a happy ending. All her family can do now is wait for justice as officials continue to investigate.

Hopefully, the discovery of Alexandria Chery’s body may give the family some closure.
