What is going on with all of Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder’s teasers on Twitter? We have no idea, but since he doesn’t use the social media network nearly as much as many of his colleagues, we can only wonder what this could all mean.

One thing is for sure: Henry Cavill probably won’t be starring in Star Wars any time soon, even though Snyder teased a photo of him wearing a dark robe, a la Anakin Skywalker, and holding a lightsaber.

It has been reported by some outlets in the know that the Batman v Superman director is going to the extreme to avoid leaks. He has supposedly ordered his main stars — Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) — to wear robes, like the one Henry wore for the mashup pic when they are on set, but not filming.

When Henry Cavill played Superman in Man of Steel, several leaked on-set photos surfaced online while the production was in full swing. However, with the use of cell phones, it is almost impossible to prevent unauthorized images to be posted online.

Snyder seems to be enjoying teasing fans on Twitter and has us all wondering what these Star Wars crossover photos mean. The latest one was posted to Twitter on Saturday, with the caption, “Batman & R2Bin, in a clear reference to the Caped Crusader’s sidekick of old, Robin.”

Of course, all these mysterious tweets about Star Wars have led to speculation that the Batman v Superman director could be working on a future installment of the interstellar saga. But we take those suggestions with a big grain of salt, as he is also set to direct the much talked about Justice League, which should come right after Batman v Superman.

Other theories suggest that Snyder is just playing around “innocently” while rattling up the fandom. Many believe that the Batman v Superman/Star Wars crossover photos are only a way of teasing the fact that the Man of Steel sequel took over the May slot, usually reserved for Star Wars. But perhaps it doesn’t, and could mean any of many things.
