Christian Family Faced Execution In Pakistan, Even Atheists Raised Money To Save Them

A Christian family faced execution if they were deported to Pakistan, and supporters in America were struggling to raise the money necessary to save them. But in the last several days before the deadline was reached, people of all beliefs came together to help them reach the goal.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, Christians in China are saying they are ready to be imprisoned and die for their faith. The Sudanese woman who was marked for death because of her Christian beliefs found freedom when she recently made it to America. But Christians throughout the Middle East are facing the real threat of increased persecution since the Muslim group ISIS is marking Christian homes.

The family of Christian pastor Sarfraz Sagar fled Pakistan with his wife and children after being marked for death by Muslim authorities. According to pastor Donald Luszczewski, “Sarfraz was targeted because of his relief efforts in helping his fellow Christians who had lost their homes and businesses when Islamic radicals burned down churches, business and homes in 2012.” They fled to an undisclosed location in Southeast Asia, and although they had applied for asylum with the United Nations, there was a real possibility the family would have been deported if they could not raise the $5,000 necessary to pay the fees for visas.

When The Inquisitr last reported on this family, after several weeks the fundraising campaign had reached only $2,230 with mere days left on the clock. But in the last several days it blew past the goal, reaching $5,540 as of this writing. But publicizing the family’s plight did come with a price of its own. Luszczewski and Sagar reported receiving mysterious phone calls and Facebook messages attempting to ascertain the family’s exact location. It was feared that Muslim extremists were using the internet in an effort to track them down from across the globe.

Pastor Luszczewski also reported the donations came from varied sources. Although some wished they could help but could not due to living in poverty, several donations came from a third world nation, one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. Apparently, even some atheists rallied behind helping the Christian family escape death, with one saying:

“I don’t believe in God but I do believe in the right to practice your beliefs freely.”

The trials of the Sagar family are not over yet. Due to the lack of a work visa, the family was not legally able to take on a job in the country they now reside within. Thanks to donations, this lack of work income should change, but in the short term the Sagars are still relying on the generosity of people throughout the world for their daily living expenses. If you donate now to the YouCaring.com campaign, the extra money will help them until they find a job.
