‘GTA V’ Online Cheaters Beware: Rockstar Is Coming For You

Do you enjoy playing GTA V? Are you the sort of individual who doesn’t mind bending the rules to make some cash in GTA Online? If so, you could soon discover you’ve been officially banned from partaking in this epic multiplayer experience.

Since there’s always someone out there who doesn’t mind exploiting bugs and glitches for their own personal gain, Rockstar has started cracking down on GTA V players who spend an incredible amount of time gaming the system while playing online. Unfortunately for these cheaters, their money-grubbing days are slowly but surely coming to an end.

According to VG24/7, a few Rockstar employees are going undercover in the Grand Theft Auto Online community to bust those players who simply can’t stand playing by the rules. If one of these agents happen to catch you exploiting money glitches, then there’s a very good chance you’ll get booted from the game. Sorry about your luck.

The website reports that folks who post YouTube videos that explain how to generate large sums of money through unscrupulous methods are landing in hot water with Rockstar. Should the company decide you’re one of the troublemakers, they’ll toss your character into the so-called Cheaters Pool. It’s kind of like that island from No Escape, except Lance Henriksen and Ernie Hudson aren’t there to help you out.

VG24/7 added:

“YouTuber NoahJ456 (who’s also been banned over money glitch violations), rumoured recently that Rockstar employees, whom he dubs “the Rockstar police,” have been entering games to weedle out glitchers before placing them in the Cheaters Pool. Once you’re in here, you’re stuck for weeks.”

According to the International Business Times, Rockstar previously tried to squash GTA V Online cheaters by implementing a series of patches. Although these fixes took care of a few issues within the game, it didn’t take long for folks to find other ways to make a quick buck or two. Instead of sticking a digital cork in these leaks, the company is taking the fight directly to the mean streets of San Andreas.

Some websites believe that Rockstar is trying to take care of these GTA Online problems before rolling out the long-awaited and frequently-delayed heists. However, it’s still unclear when these missions will finally see the light of day. Is the company waiting until the game launches on PC and next-gen systems before giving people the heists? It’s truly anybody’s guess at this point. Regardless, players are anxious to play them.

Are you one of the GTA V Online cheaters? Are you worried that Rockstar’s undercover police will ban you from the game?
