Smelling Kim Kardashian: This Video Sniffs Celebrity Fragrances So You Don’t Have To

Have you ever wondered what Kim Kardashian smells like? Neither have we, but the multimillionaire reality TV star and fashion icon thinks that not only should you wonder about it, you should want to smell just like her. That’s why she, like many other celebrities, put their names and pictures on their own line of fragrances.

Now, why anyone would buy a cologne or perfume just because its name is “Kim Kardashian” is beyond our understanding. In 2011, the second-highest selling celebrity fragrance was the men’s cologne “Derek Jeter.” And sure, Jeter’s a great ballplayer and all, but do we really want to go out on a big first date smelling like a sweaty shortstop?

Jessica Simpson, Elizabeth Taylor, Beyoncé, Katy Perry — those are just a few of the big names who lend their big names to perfume of one sort or another.

But what does this stuff actually smell like? Darned if we know. But fortunately, we have our fearless friends over at BuzzFeed to help us out.

In this video, the BuzzFeed crew, both men and women, sit down and smell the celebs — so you don’t have to. The results? Well, in some cases pretty much what you’d expect. The intrepid sniffers find that the Britney Spears scent smells like something a 15-year-old girl would wear to a mall. There’s an undeniable logic to that.

Other results are more puzzling. Why, for example, does the “Usher” cologne for men smell, like it is, well, not for men?
