Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Willow Controversy, Finds Marriage Troubles ‘Entertaining’

It’s been a few months since Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the controversy surrounding her daughter Willow. Smith’s daughter, who is an aspiring singer, posted an Instagram photo posing in bed with 20-year-old topless model Moises Arias. However, apparently that’s just one of the subjects that’s not off limits when interviewing actress Jada Pinkett Smith.

In an interview with Net-A-Porter’s The Edit, Pinkett Smith took on the latest headlines that has followed the Smith family. Most recently is the buzzed about photo of her 13-year-old daughter resting in a bed with a shirtless Arias. Of the photo Jada said:

“Just don’t pollute something that’s not dirty.”

After the photo was released Child Protective Services conducted an investigation, but ultimately cleared Will and Jada Smith. The only thing that came out of the interviews with the family is CPS telling the parents to monitor Willow’s social media accounts from time to time. Speaking of parenting, Jada expressed her thoughts on that as well.

“I want my kids to be happy and I want them to be themselves. I was saying to a friend the other day, ‘Remember, our kids are not us.’ They’re not. Sometimes we’re trying to fix things that happened to us or projecting [onto them], and that’s a terrible, terrible trap.”

Previously the only comment Jada Pinkett Smith made in regards to Willow Smith’s photo is to say that the photo is not sexual.

At the time Pinkett Smith said:

“Here’s the deal. There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it and you’re actually like covert pedophiles, and that’s not cool.”

Initially when Jada made this comment a source close to the star said that she doesn’t usually respond to family matters but, “This one clearly got to her.”

As for the constant rumors that her marriage to actor Will Smith is constantly on the rocks? Pinkett Smith admits that it can be “entertaining.”

“When you know that what’s going on in your house is so the opposite [of what’s being said], and you also know that when there’s mystery, people fill in the gaps, that’s okay. And then you look back at it and look at how creative people can be, and it’s kind of entertaining. We can laugh because it’s so ridiculous. But I get it. I don’t take it personally.”

Do you agree with Jada Pinkett Smith’s thoughts on parenting?
