Susan Sarandon Once Got Busy With David Bowie

Susan Sarandon recently revealed that she once hooked up with legendary musician David Bowie. We’ll give you a moment to imagine that scenario.

Although the actress was famously attached to filmmaker Louis Malle, Fright Night actor Chris Sarandon, and Bull Durham co-star Tim Robbins, a lot of people aren’t aware of her fling with a certain androgynous rock star. While promoting her latest film The Last of Robin Hood, Susan spilled the beans about her hook-up with the “Let’s Dance” singer.

According to Us Weekly, Susan Sarandon met David Bowie when the pair were working together on late director Tony Scott’s 1983 horror flick The Hunger. Since Sarandon was apparently quite smitten with the acclaimed singer, it wasn’t long before they took their mutual interest to the bedroom. The rest, as they say, is history.

Susan Sarandon told The Daily Beast:

“He’s worth idolizing. He’s extraordinary. That was a really interesting period… Bowie’s just a really interesting person, and so bright. He’s a talent, and a painter, and… he’s great.”

While Sarandon thinks highly of the acclaimed musician and her Thelma and Louise co-star Brad Pitt, The Globe and Mail points out that Susan doesn’t have a very high opinion of Woody Allen. Considering the controversy that’s follow the guy around these days, it’s not altogether surprising. She definitely didn’t pull any punches.

Sarandon explained:

“I have issues with Woody Allen. He’s always had a reputation for being with younger girls — I mean younger girls. And also, that young woman [Soon-Yi] was very vulnerable, and I think it was very hard for the siblings, and certainly for Mia [Farrow]. You just don’t go there. You don’t go there.”

Celebrities weren’t the only topics Susan Sarandon tackled during her chat with The Daily Beast. In fact, The Inquisitr previously reported that the actress once had a love affair with hallucinogenic mushrooms. Apparently Sarandon once expanded her horizons while attending the Burning Man festival, a feat in and of itself.

Susan offered:

“I’m not new to the idea of mushrooms. I don’t really like chemical things, really. Timothy Leary was a friend of mine, so that acid was nice and pure, but I’m not really looking for chemicals, and I don’t like to feel speedy. But I’ve done Ayahuasca and I’ve done mushrooms and things like that. But I like those drugs in the outdoors — I’m not a city — tripper.”
