Remy Ma Prison Release Delayed Due To ‘Disciplinary Problem’

Remy Ma was all set to return to the free world after spending six years in prison. Unfortunately, the release is temporarily delayed due to a disciplinary problem.

Although a source told the folks over at Revolt that Remy Ma would walk away from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women at 8 am on Thursday (July 31), apparently the rapper’s behavior has ultimately delayed the process.

As of this writing, it’s unknown when Remy Ma will finally get out of prison. The website claims that the Bronx rapper will remain at the aforementioned facility until the disciplinary problem is officially worked out. Depending on the seriousness of the issue, this could be a few days to a few weeks. Everything is pretty much up in the air right now.

The website added:

“The parole official stated the rapper did have a tentative release date but could not confirm when. REVOLT viewed information from a database that suggested today was in fact a tentative release date for the former Terror Squad star. Remy Ma was sentenced to 8 years in prison in May 2008 for shooting an associate, Makeda Barnes-Joseph after a dispute stemming from money while a group left a Manhattan party.”

MTV News reports that Remy Ma is anxious to get back to work after spending six years of her eight-year sentence behind bars. Although you’d think the rapper would harbor some jealousy toward other female artists, Remy told Power 105’s Angie Martinez that she was excited for Nicki Minaj’s recent success in the business.

Remy Ma explained:

“Nick has always been a supporter and vice versa. I like what she does. She’s done wonderful things for females, but I just wish there was more of them. I don’t know what they’re doing; they’re letting these guys take over.”

According to MTV News, it was probably this conversation that got Remy Ma into a world of trouble with prison officials. Apparently they’re not exactly thrilled about an inmate conducting an interview with a popular radio station. Whoops!

Department of Corrections and Community Supervision public information officer Linda Foglia coughed up the following reason for Remy Ma’s delayed release:

“Remy Smith’s tentative release date of July 31 was postponed due to a misbehavior report involving a July 21 incident for phone violations, particularly third party calling. We expect to resolve that misbehavior report sometime in the next week or so”

The fact that Remy Ma’s prison release was officially delayed until an as-of-yet-undetermined point in the future is definitely bad news for her fans. Instead of keeping all of those emotions bottled up inside, they expressed their feelings on Twitter. Some folks also took issue with people pretending to love Remy Ma’s music.
