Chris Pratt Shows Amy Poehler His Penis, Awkwardness Ensues [Video]

Think celebrities can behave badly and get away with it? Well, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is dispelling that popular myth — sort of. As part of promotion for his Marvel box office juggernaut Pratt attended NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and revealed that a very awkward situation happened at work when he showed Amy Poehler his penis.

Now if this would of happened at a regular 9 to 5 job the person in question would probably be brought up on sexual harassment charges, and switched to a different department, or in other cases outright fired. Then again, not everyone’s day job is starring on a hit sitcom on NBC. Still, Chris Pratt didn’t just get his wrist tapped for this one. Instead, it turned into this awkward thing that needed to be addressed (rightfully so!) by NBC.

Chris Pratt explained how an “innocent joke” on the set of Parks and Recreation turned into something else entirely.

“They’re not going to fire me, I don’t think, because we’re going to be done this year. Wait, they could fire me! They sent me a letter saying I’m not supposed to make a joke about this. So just so you know, this is really serious. It’s going to seem really funny, like I think it’s hilarious…When I framed the letter next to the frame of me naked, I was like, ‘This is as a reminder.'”

According to Pratt he showed Poehler his penis during the second season of the sitcom. It was when his character Andy was still dating Ann Perkins (played by Rashida Jones). In an effort to set up the scene, literally, Pratt said that Ann wanted Andy to come over to the house but he confused that for coming over for a naked hook up. Andy quite hilariously ends up walking in “naked” to see that Leslie (played by Amy Poehler) is standing in the house with Ann, and comedic outrage ensues.

To make Amy’s reaction more authentic Pratt decided to go without the beige brief so that the “Oh, my gosh! Your penis!” line would be a bit more realistic. On the fifth take Pratt told the boom operator that he would do a shot with his “snake out.”

“I went trou-down and the reaction was awesome. It’s the one they used.”

So what’s a little harm in playing it up for comedy’s sake? Well as stated Pratt received a letter from NBC.

“In the letter they did say, like, ‘Hey listen, you can’t do this, and also, probably don’t go joke around about it. It’s not a joking matter.’ And it’s not. You can’t do that because…I don’t know.”

Talk about commitment!
