Russell Brand On Sean Hannity: ‘He’s Not Interested In Truth’ [Video]

Comedian Russell Brand skewered Fox News anchor Sean Hannity for a “childish” and “rude” segment that aired on Hannity’s show about the Israel-Gaza conflict. According to RT, during a recent episode of his web series, The Trews, Brand showed the segment in which Hannity held what was supposed to be a debate about why the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR] seems to be “showing sympathy to terrorists.”

On his show, Hannity had Dr. Zuhdi Jasser from the American Islamic Forum for Democracy and Yousef Munayyer, executive director for The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development. Before the debate even began, Russell Brand compared the talk show host to “the Ken doll in the Toy Story 3 film.” And he didn’t stop at just that.

At the beginning, Russell mentions how Hannity was “already being unreasonable” by the way he set up the debate.

“This isn’t the normal terms in the start of the debate if you’re heading into aggression with your very first gambit,” Brand says.

Russell continues by saying the Fox News anchor is “not a solution-based guy.”

“Sean’s thinking, ‘We want conflict. What things can I say to exacerbate conflict?'” Brand adds.

When the anchor interrupts Munayyer by saying they should look back at the 1948 Partition Plan, as well as the wars from 1967 and 1973, Russell’s criticism grows.

“Yes, let’s do that, Sean; because, as you know, that is the broader context,” the comedian says in a snarky tone.

Russell Brand Doesn't Like Hannity

Russell Brand continues by saying the host will actually “not consider any of those things.”

“He’s not interested in truth,” Brand says.

Brand adds that the “only reason” Hannity is employed through Fox News is because he’s “only interested in pushing a particular perspective.”

“And you could say, ‘But so are you, Russell,'” he tells the audience. “And you’d be right. And that perspective is this: peace.”

When the Fox News anchor continues to interrupt Munayyer, Russell Brand jokes that it’ll be difficult for the guest to answer the question proposed to him.

“Sean doesn’t want an answer to his question,” Brand adds. “Sean wants to say more stuff while jabbing his finger; you’re watching the truth.”

Later in the segment, Hannity accuses the guest of “making a rationalization” about the violence occurring in Gaza. Russell jumps in and says the anchor is more interested in having a shouting match rather than a reasonable debate.

“Another thing Sean does is use incendiary words. ‘Rockets!’ ‘Kidnapper!’ ‘Murder!’ ‘A little baby duckling kicked in the face!’ These are just things that are bad,” Brand says.

This is not the first time Russell Brand has attacked Fox News. Back in June, The Inquisitr reported that Brand called the station a “fanatical terrorist propaganda organization.” But the comedian also said that the channel is worth watching for its “sublime, blissful, comedic entity.”

Both Hannity and Munayyer have seen the video Brand posted. Munayyer loved it, while Hannity said he has some “professional advice” for Brand.

At the time of this post, Russell Brand has yet to respond to the advice the Fox News anchor supposedly gave him.
