‘The Bachelor 2015’: Arie Luyendyk Jr. Says He’s Still In The Mix, Will He Get The Gig?

Just when The Bachelor fans thought they knew who would be handing out roses this winter, a new tweet may have shifted things around again. By all accounts the decision is seemingly between Chris Soules, from Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette, and Arie Luyendyk Jr., from Emily Maynard’s season. What’s the latest?

After Monday night’s finale, many thought there were plenty of signs indicating that the gig was now officially in the hands of Chris Soules. He was at the live “After the Final Rose” special, grinning and blushing. Michelle Money even asked host Chris Harrison if a decision had been made yet, and there were looks, references and jokes made that made it seem clear Soules was The Bachelor 2015, although the network would never announce it quite yet.

However, Arie makes it seem that he is still in the running. Tuesday Luyendyk tweeted, “No hiding it anymore! Would love to share my journey with all of you, but it’s up to #bachelornation. Open, hopeful and more than ready.” The post was quickly favorited by more than 1,500 people and retweeted more than 550 times. If nothing else, it is pretty clear that Arie wants the gig and he’ll campaign hard to try to get it, and some would say this isn’t the first time he’s gone down that road. Will it work for him this time?

What about Chris? He did retweet a post from a follower who was encouraging people to tweet show creator Mike Fleiss telling him that they want Soules as The Bachelor 2015. Fleiss has been tweeting up a storm asking fans who they want to be handing out roses, and Soules has been retweeting some of those posts. Sean Lowe even got into the mix, tweeting to Fleiss, “I’m seeing a ton of @ariejr supporters. Bring my boy to the mansion!”

Those with the show are making it seem as if it really is up for grabs, and it is hard to tell how legitimate that is. There is certainly a frenzy of commenting, poll voting, tweeting and all-around buzz online about this one, which surely is exactly what those with the show want. Arie’s fans are extremely passionate and always have been, and it is clear Fleiss and those making the decisions have taken that into account. At the same time, a lot of this season’s fans love Chris and think he’d make a genuine and sincere lead.

Of course there are some rallying for others from Andi’s season, like Nick Viall and Marquel Martin. However, it certainly seems to be down to Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Chris Soules. While ABC surely won’t announce their The Bachelor 2015 decision for a bit, spoilers on the final choice likely will leak relatively soon. Which guy do you think they should pick?
