Kiefer Sutherland Responds To Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Accusations In True Jack Bauer Form

Get back, Jack! Fans of 24 are not at all happy with Freddie Prinze Jr.’s sudden public distaste and bad-mouthing of Kiefer Sutherland. After several years of doing basically nothing in show business, Freddie Prinze Jr. is finally making a come-back — sort of — with his new Disney HD TV series, Star Wars Rebels.

While promoting his new series at Comic-Con, Prinze Jr. decided to become rather vocal about his last job on the top hit Fox show, 24. And Prinze Jr. was especially vocal about the star of 24, Kiefer Sutherland, as per Perez Hilton.

Evidently, Freddie Prinze Jr. was so turned off by Kiefer Sutherlands’ alleged unprofessional behavior on the set, that it gave Prinze Jr. a bad taste in his mouth for acting all together, so he didn’t work in the business for several years.

Pop Hangover reveals Prinze Jr. stating the following about Sutherland:

“I did 24. It was terrible. I hated every moment of it. Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash — I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that…I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped…”

Not talking trash? Is it only talking trash if you wouldn’t say it in Sutherland’s face?

Prinze Jr. continues his rant stating:

“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE…and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer. But at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Jut put the guy (Sutherland) on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s (Sutherland) 5-foot-4.”

Is it possible when you’re 6 feet tall that everyone seems shorter than they truly are? According to the International Movie Data Base, Kiefer Sutherland is 5-foot-9.

Freddie continues to spill his sour grapes when TMZ reports a source stating that Prinze Jr. claims “Kiefer was temperamental and got people fired he didn’t like, yet 24 producers consistently cow-towed to him…All they did was keep rewarding him.”

TMZ‘s source close to Freddie says Prinze Jr. also claims “Kiefer would regularly show up on set drunk… sitting in his trailer often for hours, as everyone waited. The sources say it messed with the lives of the family of cast and crew.”

In true Jack Bauer form, Kiefer Sutherland and his rep have publicly responded to these slamming statements made by Freddie. As reported by Just Jared, Kiefer’s rep says:

“Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr. more than 5 years ago, and this is the first he (Kiefer) has heard of Freddie’s grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”

How’s “that” for taking the high road?

A Fox network official also steps forward and tells TMZ, “Kiefer was nothing but professional during the run of the show and is beloved by cast and crew.” The network honcho continues, “It’s so out of left field, 5 years later.” No kidding, right?

The Fox official goes on, “We wouldn’t have done another 24 if Kiefer were anything like Freddie described.” That speaks volumes.

After this bashing by Freddie Prinze Jr., it makes one wonder if any actors will be standing in line to work with him?
