WWE News: Former Pro-Wrestler Marcus ‘Buff’ Bagwell Signs On With Vivid Entertainment To Do Porn
In possibly a bit of funny news, it seems like a former Pro-Wrestler for WWE and WCW has decided to venture into a new form of entertainment. Buff Bagwell was a former WCW stand-out and was always seen as a guy that had the look to be a star but didn’t have what was needed either in the ring or on the mic. While his mic skills improved, he was never what the companies wanted in a wrestler.
When WCW was bought out by WWE in 2001, Bagwell had one match for Booker T’s World Heavyweight Championship on WWE RAW. Thus making him a WWE Superstar for one night. WWE did not like how he looked and with an influx of WCW and ECW talent coming in, the WWE ended up not hiring Bagwell and he was left out in the cold. While he put out feelers for a comeback off and on, WWE never had any interest.
This led to Buff going to the Independent scene. Sadly, this does not always pay well enough to last even for those in the best of shape.
Buff decided to become a real-life Gigolo for Cowboys4Angels. He was an escort for women and provided “companionship.” Nice word for what he did, eh? He ended up on the Showtime reality TV show Gigolos due to all of this, which helped pay the bills I’m sure.
Now it seems that Bagwell is taking his show to the big time. Buff decided to sign with porn purveyors Vivid. The company is also responsible for signing Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham to a deal. That started a stir, but it also added to her popularity and helped her out as far as that went. However, nothing major of note went down for her afterward other than possibly more “movies.”
TMZ reports that Buff’s wife Judy was there to sign the deal with Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch, so that is an interesting note. It’s a family thing people, see?
The once promising Pro-Wrestler who will possibly still do Indy work is now moving on to a new form of entertainment of which, I for one, would not check out. However, unlike WWE, Vivid is at least interested in signing Bagwell to a deal. While Buff would love to work for WWE, that will never happen. After former WWE Diva Chyna ended up doing pornography, she was blackballed by WWE. Even TNA Wrestling didn’t want much of her anymore and that is saying a lot people. They’d sign a WWE camera man these days.
While Buff Bagwell will certainly never be a WWE Superstar, at least he will at least have money coming in. It might not be the kind of money-making venture we all support, at least he can have fun on the job. Really, isn’t that what we all aspire to do? Besides, he has such a great name for his new venture I think.
