cookie-diet

Anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows how hard sticking to a diet can be, but imagine a diet that means you eat more cookies.

Dr. Siegal’s cookie diet, originally created in 1975 offers a proprietary mixture of certain amino acids baked into cookies that control a users hunger. He instructs patients to consume six cookies (approximately 500 calories) during the day to control hunger, and a reasonable dinner (300 calories) in the evening.

They’ve just launched a website here with more information and online ordering. According to the press release, among the features debuting on CookieDiet.com is a Resources section that includes Dr. Siegal’s Weight Loss Calculators and a new proprietary software suite personally designed by Dr. Sanford Siegal. The calculators remove the uncertainty inherent in most diets by helping the user set and reach a realistic goal weight by a specific date. Dr. Siegal’s Weight Loss Calculators are intended to be helpful to any dieter regardless of the particular diet they follow.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I like the sound of it, although I’m still waiting for someone to come out with a beer diet that works.

  • As someone who has been dieting for about 2 years, and lost 65 pounds, 800 calories a day is not smart. A healthy adult male needs approximately 2,000 calories a day just to function properly, so all this diet is doing is basically starving you. Yes, you will lose weight, but you will also lose energy, be drowsy, and be losing weight in a non-healthy manner. And 300 calories for dinner? Where are your proteins in this diet? Your fats? Just doesn't sound wise to me.

I can agree with you when you say "i like the sound of it!" I recently started looking for different programs to start my mother on as the has been struggling with health issues which have contributed her gain of 70lbs. After countless hours of research I found a similar program that a company by the name of SMART for LIFE has and after comparing the Siegal diet to the SMART for LIFE program, it is 500 times better as they have so many items besides just cookies. Havning said that, my mother has now been on the SAMRT for LIFE program for 9 weeks and lost a total of 43lbs. I have been in the nutritional arena as a profession for approx. 12 years now and thought I knew it all until I found tis program. I am now implementing it in to my clients' lives and watching them shed the pounds almost daily. I'm Siegal's diet works but I have to say that I am 150% satisfied with SMART for LIFE and ask that any of you reaelly looking to "clean up" take a look at both programs to determine the best for YOU before getting started. Happy dieting in 2009!! Oh, and Sean, I felt the same way that you do until i did my homework and after doing so felt the complete opposite.

They are 60% organic and K-dairy which is a plus for me. They also have muffins which are delicious. This program is perfect for me because I am always on the go and it fits my lifestyle like no other program have. I carry my cookies around with my bottle water and I am set for the day. In the evening I have a sensible meal and I have lost 35 pounds. I recommend Smart for Life to anyone that is wanting to shed those pounds eating cookies! Okay..honestly..I have tried Dr. Siegal cookies......BLAHHHHH!!! They are horrible...they taste like rubber bands. By the way the diet is completley boring with only a few flavors of his cookies...which by the way taste all the same! And hollywood cookie diet...BLAHHH as well...the Lemon cookies gross! Don't let hollywood get to ur head! It can bleach your brain! Try the underdog....www.smartforlife.com. They have a comparision page. I did the diet and lost over 40lbs. They are medically monitered...and have 7 different flavors. ALSO...soups, shakes, muffins. Do your research before you waste your money like me. Just choose smart fo life..Honestly I know tons of people that also have done it. I mean it may not work for everyone of course....but they do have a website I mentionednd they offer a 2week trial...thts how I started...and now I'm on their maintence plan...My brain has been food trained thanks to smart for life.
