Portia De Rossi Wants A Baby To Save Marriage With Ellen DeGeneres
The Portia de Rossi Ellen DeGeneres divorce saga took another turn this week with a report that the Portia is hoping that a baby can save their marriage.
The couple has been inundated with divorce rumors in the past few weeks, including reports that Ellen was unfaithful both before and during Portia’s stint in rehab last May.
But now it appears the couple is trying to save their relationship. A report from the August 4 issue of In Touch magazine claimed that Portia de Rossi is hoping to stave off divorce by having a baby, and has already contacted the Center for Surrogate Parenting in Encino, California.
Sources believe this would be nothing more than a band-aid on a failing marriage, and a sign that Ellen and Portia are desperate to find something that can salvage their marriage. But others believe that the two are sincere in their efforts to stay together, and are both deeply in love despite their challenges.
This comes amid other reports that the couple is working hard to save their failing marriage. After Portia returned from rehab, Ellen DeGeneres reportedly decided that she would give up drinking herself.
“Ellen has always been a big drinker,” a source told OK! magazine. “She loves her wine but she’s realized her behavior has only enabled Portia to drink as well, and she feels partially responsible for Portia’s rehab stint.”
The source continued: “Ellen loves Portia more than anything in the world and wants to make sure she’s healthy, emotionally and physically. She’s realized that drinking in front of Portia is just selfish. Right now their marriage is better than it’s been in years, and Ellen is just grateful that her wife is healthy again. She’s ready to enjoy every minute that she has with Portia.”
Having children has been a sore point for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi in the past. While Ellen has been steadfast in her desire to remain childless, reports earlier this year indicated that Portia was desperate to get pregnant. At one point there were even rumors that Portia was trying to get pregnant behind Ellen’s back, though these reports were never confirmed.
