‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Trailer: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson Talk Steamy Scenes

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie trailer finally hit on Thursday and it was all the rave, for different reasons. Everyone has an opinion, one way or another, but what do Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have to say about the steamy scenes they had to be involved in?

E.L. James wrote the Fifty Shades trilogy in 2011 and now the erotic novel’s adaptation will hit the big screen with Jamie Dornan as the emotionally troubled billionaire Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as his love-sexual interest, the very innocent, recent college grad, Anastasia Steele. Books were flying off the shelves three years ago and the novel was dubbed “mommy porn” due to its popularity among young moms.

Now, Focus Features is hoping that those readers will flock to theaters the day before Valentine’s Day 2015 to see how the story that captivated their attention comes to a very explicit life.

Dornan and Johnson were cast amid loud protests from fans, who had very specific ideas of whom they wanted to see in the roles of Christian and Ana. It was worse, by far, for the Irish hunk and former Calvin Klein model, Jamie Dornan. Millions clamored that Christian Grey should either be Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill, or Ian Somerhalder, and when they didn’t get their way, they were massively disappointed.

If you remember, Dornan was not the first choice for Fifty Shades of Grey. Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) was originally cast for the role, but dropped out due to a conflict in his schedule.

Now that the movie trailer is out, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson shared some insights about what it was like to film those intense scenes for Fifty Shades of Grey. Between giggles, they both joked about the “sexual acrobatics” that were required to get those shots just right, during an interview on Today, right after the trailer debuted.

“The reality of it,” said Dornan, “is that there’s a burly man you don’t know very well three feet from your face… which isn’t how you usually have sex — [not] me, anyway.”

Johnson joked, “I do, a lot.”

“It’s more about visually what our bodies look like and what we’re doing,” she clarified, “so it’s more of like a dance. It’s like acrobatics.”

Dakota Johnson says that what we see in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie trailer was more of a “task” than something romantic, no matter how sexy her co-star is. “It’s not, like, a romantic situation. It’s more, like, technical and choreographed and less… it’s more of a task.”

If you are looking forward to the recreation of those racy moments from the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, author E.L. James said the movie won’t disappoint, as the trailer showed:

“What I’ve seen hasn’t been particularly watered down, so, um, yeah,” James — who was extremely involved in the movie adaptation — told Today. “I thought it was interesting!”

“Interesting” is a good way to put it and after seeing the movie trailer fans of Fifty Shades of Grey are more than ready to watch the entire thing. Unfortunately for them, it’s a long wait, but chances are some more images and details will be released between now and February 13, 2015.
