Luke Bryan To Honor U.S. Troops By Offering Free Show At Chicago Soldier Field


Luke Bryan will offer free admission to his show in Chicago to active members of the military, Radio.com reports.

In an initiative to honor the men and women of the armed forces, Bryan is teaming up with a commercial sponsor to offer an all-expense paid trip to his show in Chicago. The promotion is for any active member or veteran and is a text-to-win promotion. A total of 45 men and women will be selected to join Bryan when his That’s My Kind of Night Tour hits Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 31st.

The corporate sponsor who is teaming up with Luke Bryan is Miller Lite. Ryan Reis, senior director of Miller Lite, released this statement regarding the company’s involvement with the Luke Bryan tour:

“We are excited to give these incredible service men and women the chance to win a truly amazing experience. It’s an honor and privilege for Miller Lite to give back to the heroes in our armed forces.”

In other news, Luke Bryan is fresh off the receiving end of multiple nominations from the Teen Choice Awards. The 2014 Teen Choice Awards show is coming up, and teens all over the country have cast their vote for their favorite country crooner. Bryan’s name was nominated several times in the voting.

Taste of Country reports:

“[Luke Bryan has received] five nominations for the show, meaning this country star can hold it down amongst the pop stars. Bryan’s huge That’s My Kind of Night Tour got a nod for the Teen Choice Awards, but has some serious competition. He’s nominated against power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z for their On the Run Tour, Justin Timberlake’s the 20/20 Experience World Tour, Katy Perry’s the Prismatic World Tour and One Direction’s Where We Are Tour.”

Other nominations include the much coveted Choice Male Country Artist and Choice Summer Music Star, for which he will have to compete against Jason Derulo, John Legend, Sam Smith and Pharrell Williams. In total, Luke Bryan has been nominated a total of five times.

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air on August 10 at 8 PM EST on Fox. Voting is open to teens through the official website.
