Shemar Moore Back To ‘The Young And The Restless’: What’s The Scoop?

Shemar Moore is headed back to The Young & the Restless to reprise the role of Malcolm, and fans cannot wait to see him back in Genoa City. What about Moore’s role as Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds? Fans need not worry as his return in the role of Malcolm is going to be a short one, and he is already busy at work on the set of CM as well.

Soap Opera Digest shares that Shemar Moore returns to Y&R for the Sept. 10 and 11 episodes, but unfortunately for soap opera fans, it will be a short visit. Malcolm will reunite with his brother Neil, who will be going through a tough time.

The Young & the Restless spoilers from She Knows Soaps tease that this week Devon will be pushing Hilary to come clean regarding how she really feels about him, and that may spell doom for Hilary and Neil’s relationship.

As this love triangle plays out, it seems that Hilary is thrown a “huge curveball” after she decides she wants Devon over Neil. It seems all of this will surely pave the way for Moore’s return in September. While Malcolm is supposedly returning to help his brother out during this rough patch, apparently it will be written in such a way that he doesn’t need to stick around for long.

The actor left The Young & the Restless nearly a decade ago after originating the role in 1994. Darius McCrary stepped into Moore’s shoes to play Malcolm from 2009 to 2011. Shemar seems excited to be returning to Genoa City for a quick visit as he posted a photo from his previous Y&R days on his Instagram with a fantastic flashback photo. He has said he is thrilled to return to the show that helped him get his start.

As for season 10 of Criminal Minds, Moore teased his Instagram followers that “Derek Morgan will be KICKIN down doors and CHASIN bad guys!!!” Filming is going on now, and viewers anticipate a fantastic season.

In addition, it appears that fans who had been worried about Matthew Gray Gubler’s future with the show can apparently breathe now as well. The Criminal Minds Twitter page @CM_SetReport tweeted a shot of the actor, who plays Dr. Spencer Reid, along with a director and a writer for the show as everybody worked on episode 10×02.

Party of Five star Jennifer Love Hewitt is joining the cast this fall as well as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

It sounds as if Moore is keeping quite busy these days and his fans are thrilled. Be sure to tune in to The Young & the Restless on Sept. 10 and 11 to see Shemar Moore back in the role of Malcolm. The season 10 premiere of Criminal Minds seemingly is set to debut on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
