Tim McGraw Speaks Out: Tim Calls Swatting Incident ‘Unfortunate’

Tim McGraw has spoken out about the woman that he slapped during a concert. According to People Magazine, Tim explained himself, and said that everything happened very fast, but he said that the way everything went down was “unfortunate.”

“Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation, I think all the way around. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on. It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There’s nothing to be said about it.”

Tim McGraw is speaking out about a week after the incident first occurred. According to The Inquisitr, a woman in the crowd during Tim’s Atlanta show got a little too aggressive during the song Truck Yeah. McGraw was making his way through the crowd, touching the hands of fans, but this one woman reportedly slapped Tim on the leg, and then slapped him near his crotch — and that’s when he reacted.

In the video posted by TMZ, you can see Tim swat (or slap) the woman away from him — likely a gut reaction. Of course Tim didn’t mean to hurt the woman in any way — he just wanted to get her away from him, and protect himself. Security was there within seconds, but what happened was already caught on tape — and the video made it to the internet, obviously.

Tim McGraw spoke out even though he didn’t really have to. His rep sort of cleared the air after the incident, and the woman has not come forward to file any kind of complaint. It’s unknown if she was actually injured when Tim swatted her — but in the video, you can see the woman’s head and hair fly back which suggests that Tim hit her with a bit of force.

Tim McGraw took a bit of heat for his actions, but once people heard the story, many supported Tim’s decision to defend himself. Most people don’t blame Tim for what happened and many do not believe that he did anything wrong. Do you think was wrong for swatting that woman away from him?
