Gisele Bundchen’s Birthday: Celebrates With Twin Sister, Not Husband Tom Brady

One of the world’s most famous supermodels is now 34 years old.

On Sunday, Gisele Bundchen marked the birthday alongside her twin sister, Patricia.

Instagram photos show the two blowing out their birthday candles, as they celebrated by the beach.

Gisele posted a bilingual message with the photo, writing:

“Thank you to everyone for the love and birthday wishes. I feel so blessed #grateful.”

The Brazilian beauty has millions of reasons to celebrate. A recent article by Forbes estimates the model earns about $128,000 a day, which adds up to $47 million over the course of the year.

Gisele is the top model in 2014 Forbes Celebrity 100 list, a spot she has held for the past eight years.

Fortune breaks down Gisele’s earnings, explaining:

“Along with lucrative contracts for H&M, Chanel, and Carolina Herrera, Gisele gets a cut of sales from the jelly sandals she designs for Brazilian shoemaker Grendene. The face of Pantene hair products and Oral-B in Brazil, Bundchen’s line of Hope lingerie — Gisele Bundchen Intimates — also plumps up her paycheck.”

Gisele’s recent appearance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil cemented her status as one of the most famous Brazilians of all time. Before the final match between Germany and Argentina, it was Gisele who helped unveil the World Cup Trophy, to an audience of over a billion.

Despite Gisele Bundchen’s top billing in the modelling world, her birthday seemed to be a modest affair.

A photo shared last week shows Gisele summersaulting on the beach, with the caption, “finally on vacation!”

Notably absent from the pictures were Gisele’s football playing husband, Tom Brady, and their kids, Vivian and Benjamin. During Tom’s NFL off season, the couple has been seen together at World Cup games across Brazil.

While Gisele and Tom looked happy enough, the tabloids have another story. According to Star Magazine, Gisele tries to control her quarterback husband:

“Since the couple’s kids are too young to help out around the house, Gisele has enforced a strict chore schedule that their dad must stick to. ‘They have housekeepers,’ reveals a friend, ‘but Gisele won’t let them do anything. She makes Tom get up at 6 a.m. with the children and then has him scrub the toilets and clean the floors while she sleeps in. She thinks that because she gave birth, her work is done.'”

None of the Star’s story has been confirmed by outside sources.

Regardless of what happens between Gisele and Tom, the Brazilian beauty has a busy agenda this fall. Gisele Bundchen is starring in a Balenciaga ad campaign, alongside her other commitments to Chanel and to designer Isabel Marant.
