Christina Milian Not Dating Lil Wayne, Despite Rumors
Sorry to disappoint the entire internet, but it looks like rumors regarding Christina Milian and Lil Wayne dating were indeed just that. After a whole barrage of speculation from every side of the web, TMZ decided to go directly to the source. A short clip shows a TMZ cameraman stopping Milian on her way to a Chris Brown-hosted celebrity kickball game and asking her up front if the rumors were true. “We make music together,” Milian stated. “I’m finally around my record label and have the opportunity to make music.”
The exchange did not stop there, however. the photographer went on to ask Milian if she would ever be able to date someone who is her manager or producer. “You never know,” was Milian’s answer, but only after her friend gave her a well-intended “Don’t answer that.” It seems like a coy, sly answer with all kinds of juicy implications, but in the context of the clip, it seemed clear Milian was just trying to cover her bases.
Speculation regarding Christina Milian and Lil Wayne being an item has been off the charts since Milian broke off her engagement with Jas Prince, around the time she wrote the following statement on her Instagram on June 12:
There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.
While the message was indeed inspiring, it did much to stir things up, planting the thought that Christina Milian getting back up may be, in fact, moving on to her next relationship.
Things especially hit the fan when Milian and Lil Wayne were seen at the ESPY Awards together holding hands, and the source from Us Weekly outright claiming that “It is totally true… They are hooking up” wasn’t doing much to discredit them.
So all in all, it appears that the whole affair is strictly business. With Christina Milian looking to restart her music career (and signing to Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment record label), it is only natural that she would be hanging around Lil Wayne at professional events.
