Posted: August 23, 2011

The 2011 Little League World Series is continuing on strong today with a consolation match between New England and Europe followed by two elimination games later on in the day.

The first match of the day, the consolation match between New England amd Europe, kicked off the day nearly 30 minutes ago on ESPN2. Alternatively, if your ISP allows for access to ESPN3, you can check out the game over on that, too.

The day’s first elimination match, and the first tournament match of the day, will see Japan and Canada squaring off for survival. Their morale is likely to carry them through the game as they’re hot off a 13-4 victory against Saudi Arabia. The game will be shown on ESPN and ESPN3 at arund 4:00 P.M. PT.

The winner of that match will go on to face the loser of the Latin America-Mexico game, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Finally, the day will come to a close with the second elimination match between the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. The winner of that game will advance to play against the winner of another game set for tomorrow, Northwest vs West. The Mid-Atlantic vs Southeast match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 P.M. PT on ESPN2 and ESPN3.

If you plan on watching any of these games, let us know in the comments.

  1. The umpiring behind the plate in the LLWS has been and continues to be absolutly appalling. I can hardly stand to watch the games anymore. Pitches that are a foot to a foot and a half outside the strike zone are consistently called strikes. I feel sorry for the kids who are subjected to this kind of incompetence. With all the money being made off this event from the live gate to T.V. Revenue you would think that some professional umpires would be utilized. You cannot tell me that the lame sports casters to cover this event aren't covering up this ineptness. HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT?

  2. really!! how long would it take if you tight'n up the zone. did you watch the japan/mex game. two pitures with good control had to throw good strikes very good umpires this year. go blue!
