‘American Horror Story’: Ryan Murphy Reveals First Set Photo

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has finally revealed the first photo from the set of the upcoming season, Freak Show. And while it only gives a tiny glimpse of one of the most talked-about characters, it’s something for now.

On his Twitter page, Murphy showed fans a look at Sarah Paulson’s double-headed character, Dot and Bette. But the black-and-white photo shows her from the back. The new American Horror Story character is seen looking out the window of a room with the attached caption: “Dot and Bette’s first day.”

Judging from the photo, it looks like the character will be very similar to the test photo that Paulson tweeted in June. But, again, Murphy has not released an image that reveals what she looks like in the front.

CarterMatt.com speculated that Paulson’s role in the new installment of American Horror Story could garner her some award buzz.

“It’s also going to be one of the most challenging for the series to pull off, thanks mostly to all of the technical quirks that are going into making a character with two heads on one body,” the website added.

The website also questioned how the designers were going to bring the American Horror Story role to life.

“Will Paulson have a prosthetic attached to her? We’re guessing that it will be a combination of that, camera work, and also post-production CGI that all work together to bring these two to life.”

And while there aren’t many details about the new season of American Horror Story just yet, there may be some more revealed when the series makes its way to San Diego Comic-Con. According to Dread Central, the series will make its first appearance at Comic-Con on July 26.

Paulson is one of the cast members scheduled to appear at Comic-Con. Joining her for the American Horror Story panel are co-stars Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, and executive producer Tim Minear. The panel will mostly be about the previous season, Coven, but it looks like fans will get a little taste of Freak Show.

The actress has already teased fans a little bit about the new season. In a related report from The Inquisitr, she said the latest installment of American Horror Story will be “unlike anything the show has been before.”

“That’s very exciting for us,” she added. “We had hair and makeup tests yesterday. I could feel a crackling kind of excitement.”

American Horror Story returns to FX in October.
