Real Life Resurrection? Video Of Dead Girl Waking Up At Her Own Funeral Goes Viral
The alleged resurrection of a dead toddler was caught on camera Sunday, startling relatives attending her funeral service in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, in the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The video was soon widely shared on social media, garnering mixed reactions from netizens all over the world.

The toddler was pronounced dead by local medical officers last Saturday due to fatal lung complications. According to Philippine news agency Philippine Star, the child had been suffering from high fevers and was sent to the emergency room Friday in a town hospital in Aurora. Sadly, the girl did not make it and passed away 9 am Saturday. Preparations for her funeral service were commenced around 2 pm the same day.
On Sunday, as relatives were reportedly about to arrange the girl’s body, mourners were startled to see the toddler, who was laying inside her coffin, move. Relatives claimed to see the girl turn her head, open her eyes and breathe, prompting them to move her out of the coffin. One relative, the girl’s uncle, added that he felt her pulse beat as he was taking the girl outside the coffin.
The girl’s mother gave her water and immediately rushed her back to the hospital. According to local authorities, the child was brought back to the family’s house. Although the local police could not officially confirm the current status of the girl’s health, police chief inspector Heidil Teelan told Philippine Star that the child appeared to be in a coma when she was brought back to her residence in Baranggay Bayabas in Aurora.
Teelan said:
“We really can not make confirmation on the status of the girl but based on the observation of the police personnel I deployed it appear the girl remained in a state of comatose in their house.”
The video was uploaded on YouTube and other social media sites, prompting mixed reactions from netizens. Some claimed that the girl’s “resurrection” was a real-life miracle while others remained skeptical of the events.
This isn’t the first case of people waking up at their own funerals, according to The Mirror. In Zimbabwe, mourners were surprised when the body of 34-year-old Brighton Dama Zenthe moved inside his coffin, sparking shock and terror among funeral-goers. In Lexington, Mississippi, a man named Walter Williams woke up inside a body bag two days after being declared dead.
UPDATE: The girl has now been confirmed dead by local medical authorities. Dr. Mary Syline Asor-Cabahug, Municipal Health Officer of Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, confirmed today that the child has no signs of life and advised parents to bury her immediately.
