36-Year-Old Florida Mom Jailed For Having Sex With 12-Year-Old Boy Three Times

A 36-year-old woman from Florida has been jailed after admitting having sex at least three times with a boy she knew was only 12-years-old.

Joy Leaann McCall, who has kids of her own who are the same age as the minor she had sex with, was given a sentence of 10 years behind bars for each charge of lewd or lascivious battery on a child between 12 and 15, and was told that the sentence would run concurrently.

She pleaded guilty to the second degree felony charges against her and was given a 134 day credit for time already spent in jail.

The disturbing case presented a situation where McCall apparently sent increasingly lewd Facebook messages to the young boy, including images of herself in sexually provocative poses, wearing skimpy lingerie or naked.

She arranged to meet the boy at a local shopping mall and after picking him up in her car she proceeded to have sex with him in the back of her vehicle.

According to the boy, McCall contacted him again just a few days later and arranged to meet with him again, taking him to a secluded spot in some woods near to where she picked him up. The court heard that they also had sex on that occasion.

And then, on February 16, the court heard, McCall met with the minor for a third time and had sexual intercourse with him in the same secluded area as the second encounter.

McCall’s crimes were revealed when the boy confided in a friend who spoke to his mother. His mother contacted the police after she read some sexually suggestive text messages from McCall on her son’s phone.

Back in February, Sergeant Angy Scroble told WCJB, “She was able to see through the different text messaging that had occurred between McCall and the juvenile. And determine the dates that the incidents had occurred.”

Some observers have pointed out that there was no evidence of lack of consent, although the legal assumption is that a minor cannot be assumed to have consented. They also noted that the penalty for second-degree murder, manslaughter, and even rape, is often considerably less than 30 years.
