GOP Distances itself from Barack the Magic Negro Scandal (music + lyrics)

Posted: December 27, 2008

chip-saltsmanRepublican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan has condemned the distribution of Barack the Magic Negro by a party operative in an attempt to distance the GOP from the scandal.

Chip Saltsman, formerly Mike Huckabee’s campaign manager during the Republican presidential primaries and a well known party operative distributed a CD containing “Barack the Magic Negro” as part of his campaign to be elected chairman of the Republican National Committee. The song first gained prominence in 2007 when it was played on the Rush Limbaugh show.

Widely condemned as being racist, the song is sung to the music of Puff the Magic Dragon. The Barack the Magic Negro line comes from an LA Times piece that used a similar phrase.

Here’s Barack the Magic Negro video + lyrics so you can decide:

SHANKLIN (Sharpton impersonator): Barack the Magic Negro lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s not authentic like me.

Yeah, the guy from the L.A. paper

Said he makes guilty whites feel good

They’ll vote for him, and not for me

‘Cause he’s not from the hood.

See, real black men, like Snoop Dog,

Or me, or Farrakhan

Have talked the talk, and walked the walk.

Not come in late and won!

[refrain] Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.

Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.

Some say Barack’s “articulate”

And bright and new and “clean.”

The media sure loves this guy,

A white interloper’s dream!

But, when you vote for president,

Watch out, and don’t be fooled!

Don’t vote the Magic Negro in –

‘Cause — ’cause I won’t have nothing after all these years of sacrifice

And I won’t get justice. This is about justice. This isn’t about me, it’s about justice.

It’s about buffet. I don’t have no buffet and there won’t be any church contributions,

And there’ll be no cash in the collection plate.

There ain’t gonna be no cash money, no walkin’ around money, no phoning money.

Now, Barack going to come in here and –

THE CD IS A SATIRE ABOUT AN ARTICLE THAT WAS POSTED IN THE LOS ANGELES TIMES on March 19, 2007, YOU IDIOTS !!!

Obama the 'Magic Negro' The Illinois senator lends himself to white America's idealized, less-than-real black man.

This video is very funny to racists, Nazis, Klansmen and retards. To normal people, it's a vile, despicable example of anti-Negro prejudice and ignorance. Did Rush Limbaugh have his hood on or off when he aired this piece of dung?
In the competition for Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest, this video (and the mentally impaired creatures distributing it) win hands down the Gold, the Silver and the Bronze.

This is Funny as Hell, Get used to it.
When you're elected president, you're a public figure,
Like Paris, or Britney, or whoever, you're
at the mercy and whim of everyone, and subject to humor, ridicule and comments of all kinds.
    It's called “Freedom of Speech”.
BH Obama needs to toughen up and adapt, if he's to make it in D.C..
This is only where it starts, folks…

  6. Oh for Christs sake, lighten up! This is hilarious. Sharpton is an idiot racist and no one makes this big a deal about the crap that comes out of his mouth.

  7. While this is funny, it's in poor taste coming from the RNC. It's amazing that they just don't get it, which is why I voted Democrat this time around.
