Two-Year-Old Amputee Kayden Kinckle Walks For The First Time! Video Goes Viral

An adorable video showing a two-year-old boy attempting walk for the first time has gone viral. According to Time, the boy, Kayden Elijah Kinckle is not your average two year old. An child whose legs had to be amputated at the time of his birth due to several complications, Kayden shows amazing spirit as he attempts to walk using a baby walker for the first time. The video shows Kayden saying “I got it” multiple times as he attempts his difficult first steps. No wonder, the video went viral!

The video was uploaded to YouTube on July 4 and has since then notched up over 80,000 views at the time of filing this report. The view count is going up fast with each passing minute. According to KTLA, Kayden is also receiving an outpouring of support after the video went viral. Many commenters say that they feel Kayden to be an inspiration to them – thanks to his never say die spirit.

The video was uploaded to YouTube by Kayden’s mother Nikki Sessoms and was shared by quite a few famous people – including Philadelphia Eagles NFL player Michael Vick. In the video description, Kayden’s mother writes about the reasons behind the amputation of Kayden’s legs.

Kayden suffered from a condition known as omphalocele. This is a defect in which the child’s abdominal wall causes a few internal organs to remain outside of the body. To make things worse, the umbilical cord attached to Kayden was wrapped around Kayden’s feet and was pinned under the mother’s pelvic bone.

“The doctors stated he would not survive and suggested I terminate my pregnancy, even the ultrasound techs agreed saying that he would either be stillborn or wouldn’t make it through the repair surgery,” Nikki said.

Defying the doctor’s advice Nikki chose to go ahead with the pregnancy and Kayden was born. She knew right from day one that life would not be easy for her baby. But to her surprise, after his birth Kayden faced far fewer issues than what doctors had initially predicted. He had no defects to his spine and there was no problems with his mental ability as well.

Talking about the video Nikki says;

“This video is really more than the first steps. We celebrate his life as well and every step he takes will be to glorify God. We want the whole world to know his testimony.”

Nikki has also created a Facebook profile for Kayden and is seeking support from people who can help them raise funds for Kayden’s future treatment.
