Jennifer Love Hewitt Joins “The Client List” Cast [Lifetime TV Series]

Jennifer Love Hewitt has a new TV home at the Lifetime TV network where she has agreed to star in The Client List a TV adaptation of the Lifetime movie she starred in last year.

Hewitt’s original portrayal of a housewife who finds work at a dayspa only to learn that it’s actually a brothel won her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television.

The hour long series will pick up the plot revolving around a housewife who turns to prostitution. In the TV series Hewitt’s character has been deserted by her husband and forced to raise her family alone, strapped for cash she visits the dayspa and realizes they offer a lot more than massages.

Honestly the plot sounds like the “sex industry” version of the popular Showtime series “Weeds” which is a great show in itself so maybe it will work.

Given the difficulties a working girl in a brothel can experience on any given day it will be interesting to see what type of exploits Hewitt’s character runs into while helping eventually run the establishment as a top earning XXX destination.

The Client List will start with 10 episodes and is scheduled to debut sometime in 2012.

The original TV movie is based off the true story of a 2004 arrest involving a single mother who turned to prostitution to make ends meet.

At the end of the Client List Jennifer Love Hewitt’s character was working as a waitress while trying to rekindle her relationship with her estranged husband, it will be interesting to see how that ending translates to the TV series.
