Maks Chmerkovskiy, Meryl Davis Dating? Maksim Spends The Fourth In The Hamptons Sans Meryl

Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis still have not seen each other since the beginning of June. According to Maks’ Instagram account, he spent the Fourth of July in the Hamptons with some of his friends — and there was no sign of his Dancing With The Stars partner and maybe-girlfriend, Meryl. It’s unknown where the Olympic gold medalist spent her weekend, but she tweeted about her friends and it sounds like she’s just kept things low-key.

Meanwhile, Maksim kicked back and relaxed for a couple of days, enjoying some fun in the sun and a BBQ or two. He took photos with girls (who weren’t Meryl), which upset some fans who had been hoping that Maks and Meryl would have spent some time together this weekend.

A Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis reunion is highly anticipated, but the media has seemingly moved on from their potential romance. According to Hollywood Take, Maks is actually interested in Jennifer Lopez. The two apparently never dated because of bad timing, but now that they are both single, things could flourish between them. While the two have denied being in a relationship, it seems clear that there is something going on. Two good-looking, single people could easily be more than “just friends.”

A source explained:

“[They] are just friends, but I’m sure he’d love it if they were more. He really likes her. He thinks she’s beautiful, really cool and down-to-earth.”

Does that mean that Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis are not romantically involved at all? No, of course not. However, it does seem obvious that whatever passion and chemistry that they had on Dancing With The Stars has cooled off. Perhaps they just realized that being together in the real world wouldn’t work — and the magic they made just fizzled out. And maybe that explains this message from Meryl:

Or, maybe not.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis are still friends at the very least. The two have teamed up for Shall We Dance on Ice (along with Meryl’s ice skating partner, Charlie White, and his Dancing With The Stars partner, Sharna Burgess), which isn’t until December. Making future plans with someone, however, is a sign of a strong friendship. If the two had just gone their separate ways, they probably wouldn’t be booking things together.

So, if you were holding out hope for Maks and Meryl, you will at least get to see them together again. And maybe, just maybe, that magic will return.
