‘The Walking Dead’ Executive Producer On Season 5: ‘You’ve Seen Nothing Yet’

During AMC’s Fourth of July marathon of The Walking Dead, executive producer Gale Anne Hurd gave fans a little tease about what to expect in the fifth season. Speaking to Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, via Wetpaint, Hurd said that the crew enjoyed giving the actors “something new” with their characters.

Hurd admitted that Season 4 of The Walking Dead had the actors going “dark” and digging “deep emotionally with their characters.” But in terms of Season 5, fans are in for a real treat.

“And this season, if you thought that was deep and dark, you’ve seen nothing yet,” Hurd said.

In a separate interview segment during the Walking Dead marathon, Hardwick and Hurd talked about Terminus. The executive producer mentioned that Terminus could be something “where if it looks too good to be true, it just might be.”

“‘Sanctuary for all’ has many meanings,” she added.

During another segment, Walking Dead actress Alanna Masterson was asked to describe the fifth season in one word. Masterson clarified that they have only shot a few episodes of Season 5 “so far.” But from what has been filmed, she said that Season 5 will be “psychotic.”

In a related report from The Inquisitr, Walking Dead cast member Lauren Cohan described the season five premiere as “disturbing.”

“Some of the stuff they shot yesterday, I don’t know if it’ll make it to TV,” Cohan added.

The Spoiling Dead Fans has been sharing some on-set photos of the Walking Dead crew filming the fifth season. This past Thursday, the page shared a shocking rumor they were “tracking” about Carol possibly getting “hit by a station wagon with a cross on it.”

“Spectators say that after Carol was hit, two individuals dressed as cops came out of the vehicle,” the page reported. “After seeing them, Carol faints and is loaded into the vehicle on a cot.”

The Walking Dead spoiler page continued by reporting that the broken window on the car was replaced, and Melissa McBride returned to the set with “possible rope burns on her wrists” and her stunt double looked pretty banged up, too.

A separate report from Wetpaint listed a few things that Walking Dead fans should check out before the show returns. One was the AMC marathon, which is still taking place and will end on the evening of Sunday, July 6. That leads up to the Talking Dead Season 5 Preview Special at 9 pm ET that day.

There will then be two Walking Dead documentaries airing on AMC. The first, Inside The Walking Dead, will be shown on July 8 at 10 pm ET, and the second, Inside The Walking Dead: Walker University will air on July 15 at 10 pm ET.

Fans can also expect the Season 5 premiere title to be revealed soon, and an extended trailer will be unveiled at Comic Con International: San Diego — as will the confirmed premiere date. There also may be some details about the Walking Dead spin-off at Comic Con.
