Lea Michele Pregnant? Nope, Just Hacked

Glee actress Lea Michele had fans all a-twitter when she tweeted that she’s pregnant, prompting mixed reactions with fans still mourning the death of Cory Monteith a year ago this month. While some were ready to congratulate Ms. Michele, many seemed shocked at such a large life change so soon after Lea lost her then-boyfriend to a drug overdose.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, read:

“Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant #BabyBoy”

Already this week, Michele has been making heads turn by showing up in public with her new boyfriend, Matthew Paetz, according to MTV. The actress was already receiving mixed responses to that, with some fans judging that a year was too short for mourning and staying single, while others were happy Lea seems to have found love.

In context of that, the pregnancy announcement may have been especially surprising, but both congratulations and condemnation were premature: Lea Michele didn’t tweet that, and isn’t pregnant.

According to Hello, Michele was actually hacked, and the tweet was not posted by her at all. Representatives for the actress have confirmed that Lea’s Twitter account was hacked, and that she is not pregnant.

This news follows directly on the heels of another Glee cast member having his account hacked. Lea Michele’s co-actor, Chris Colfer, appeared to announce yesterday that he had been kicked off the show for “personal reasons” and would be releasing more information later.

“Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly…”

Instead of explanations, what followed shortly after was an assurance that Colfer wasn’t leaving the popular show, and that his Twitter account had been hacked.

With Chris Colfer and Lea Michele both suffering the same type of attack in such a brief period, it leaves us wondering whether the Glee cast is being targeted, or whether it might be a joke or prank by another cast member, especially since the attacks are more on the nuisance level than anything really vicious.

We’ll be staying tuned in the next few days to see if any other Glee cast members fall victim to the further hacking attacks, and whether anyone confesses to playing pranks!

In the meantime, hopefully Lea Michele has gotten a tougher password, and Glee actors might want to lock up their social media logged-in smartphones while on the set, just in case!
