Connect with Entrepreneur Barbie on her LinkedIn Page

Now you can connect with Barbie on her LinkedIn Page. Mattel announced that Entrepreneur Barbie will now have her very on LinkedIn page to assist in showcasing her own various achievements but all in growing her list of business partners.

The move is part of an endeavor by Mattel to help break through the “plastic ceilings” and inspire girls to follow their dreams. The new Entrepreneur Barbie is the 2014 career doll of the year. The campaign is centered around the official Barbie® LinkedIn page. Her profile lists her new business as “Dream Incubator” where she acts as a “consultant, helping girls around the world play out their imagination, try on different careers, and explore the world around them. Our company tagline is ‘If you Can Dream It, You Can Be it!'”

The page for Entrepreneur Barbie is also a highlight of some of the careers the plastic personality has had since her debut in 1959, over 150 of them in all. The idea is to be true to her calling of encouraging generations of girls to not limit their imaginations.

The page isn’t just a fictitious representation of an imaginary career for a plastic dollm however. There is a real life application being presented by Mattel in the Entrepreneur Barbie portal and LinkedIn pages. Both outlets will play host to real life women and girls who have achieved success in their own businesses. On the initial launchm the founders of the companies Plum Alley, TomKat Studio, One Kings Lane, Girls Who Code, Rent The Runway, Sugarfina, and Genuine Insights Inc. are featured on the page alongside Barbie.

The official Barbie.com site is also host to a variety of themed materials that supplements the LinkedIn page. A set of printable material can be downloaded that explains the idea of being an entrepreneur, and includes brain storming ideas to help girls to go out and create their own business.

The real world is getting a way to connect to Entrepreneur Barbie through a billboard located in New York City’s Times Square. A Pink Power Lunch was also organized so that Barbie and her CIO’s (that’s Chief Inspiration Officers) could help others get a chance to be inspired by women who are breaking the glass (and plastic) ceilings. In addition, Mattel has coined two hashtags #CIOs and #Unapologetic which carries the ideal that no one should back away from their dreams.
