‘Dracula Untold’ Star Luke Evans Answers Fans Questions On Twitter Q&A

Twitter was the set up of a Q&A session with Dracula Untold star Luke Evans, who was kind enough to take a good amount of time to answer multiple fan questions, mostly related to his role in the horror film. The Welsh actor was thorough and shared some interesting bits about his time filming the movie.

Luke Evans is one of those nice celebrities that actually interacts with his fans on Twitter and — not for the first time — he made himself available for a Q&A, sponsored by @iTunesTrailers. The Dracula Untold trailer leaked last week and Universal quickly took down all copies released.

However, later in the week, the stunning clip was finally made official and fans couldn’t get enough of what they saw. Luke seemed to enjoy his time and even shared a couple of pics announcing he was ready for the chat.

The Welsh actor was willing to answer pretty much anything, except when the plot could be revealed and he made clear what he could and couldn’t say. We are not sure how many questions were actually sent regarding the Dracula Untold Q&A with Luke Evans, but there were some interesting revelations. Here are some of the most interesting ones:

Dracula Untold reveals the origin of the famous vampire. How does it feel to play a young Dracula?

“I love a good origins story and so to start at the beginning of the life of such a famous literary figure is very exciting.”

How did you prepare for the role of Dracula?

“I read a lot of books on Vlad and also on Dracula. There’s a Lot of contrasting opinions on both. It was one of the most interesting research projects I’ve ever undertaken when researching a character for a movie.”

Did you get any special training for this role?

“I trained for seven weeks before we started shooting, I have several stunt and sword heavy fight scenes, these are very exciting.”

What do you think about the idea of eternal life?

“I’m not sure I’m sold on the idea. You’d lose loved ones and it would be a very lonely existence. On the other hand, you be very very clever and probably damn rich too!!”

What was your reaction when you were told that you got the part?

“Yes! Take a look also at all the incredible people who’ve played him. Big bloody shoes to fill!!! But I feel more honoured than intimidated.”

Do you have any pre-filming ritual to get in character?

“Silence and solitude. Trailer door locked!”

Asked about how long the filming of Dracula Untold took, Luke Evans said:

“We shot for 76 days and I worked every day and on the weekends often trained for the upcoming fights.”

What do you have in common with Dracula? Besides the look?

“My fangs!! And my passion to protect my loved ones!”

How was it working with Dominic Cooper again (they worked together in Tamara Drewe)? Any funny episode with him?

“Working with Dom is a total treat, he’s a superb actor and an old friend, but we do play very good enemies on screen.”

Did you take anything from set to keep as a souvenir?

“Yes my sword. It’s the most beautiful sword I’ve ever got to fight with in a movie. And I’ve had quite a few.”

Many don’t know that Dracula Untold‘s leading man, Luke Evans, has many talents and started his career in musical theater. He shared that he would love to have a stint on Broadway: “One if my dreams is to tread the Broadway boards one day.” To read the entire Q&A on Twitter go here.
