Linkin Park Vocalist Denies Calling The Cops On Sublime With Rome

Linkin Park reportedly has another hit record on their hands, but this isn’t the only reason the band is making headlines this week.

For those who don’t keep up with Linkin Park’s various shenanigans, vocalist Mike Shinoda was accused last month of calling the cops on fellow rockers Sublime with Rome. According to Loudwire, members of Rome were busted in Tucson, Arizona, after someone tipped off the cops that the guys were in possession of marijuana. Although Shinoda denies narcing on the group, the police report told a somewhat different story:

“I was approached by the security for the band, [Linkin Park]. We were advised by one of the security guards that one of the band members was complaining about another band, known as Sublime, smoking marijuana next door. The smoke was irritating one of the band members and his is, indeed, allergic to the marijuana smoke. They were requesting for us to talk to the band to tell them to stop smoking the marijuana inside.”

Since Sublime with Rome believes that someone associated with Linkin Park is ultimately responsible for squashing their buzz, the band gave their adversaries a brand new nickname: Linkin Narc. However, Shinoda still denies that he or any of his Linkin Park bandmates phoned the fuzz on that fateful day in May.

Mike recently told The Jason Ellis Show:

“Apparently, from [Rome’s] perspective, we called the cops because they were smoking weed. First of all, if you were at this venue, there were a shocking number of police officers in the venue. Whatever happened, nobody called POT-911, cause [the cops] were there — they were standing outside the room. So I don’t know what happened and I have no idea what happened with who. But I know that I didn’t call anybody and I know Chester [Bennington] didn’t call anybody.”

The Linkin Park rapper added:

“We took Snoop Dogg out on tour. We took Cypress Hill out on tour. Our second tour ever was with Kottonmouth Kings. Did I put Snoop Dogg in jail? Why would I do that? He’s saying it’s poor form on our end, and I’m saying, and by the way I tweeted at him. I went directly at the guy like, ‘Look, I don’t know what happened. I’m sorry that it happened to you and I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t do it. I didn’t lash out at him and I don’t think the guy’s an a–hole, but I think he was misled or whatever.”

The mystery, as they say, continues. Do you think someone involved with Linkin Park phoned the police about Sublime with Rome’s drug use?
