Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo: Ben Affleck Jealous Of Her Male Friends

Jennifer Garner’s husband, actor Ben Affleck, is jealous of his wife’s male friends and male-costars, or so it was suggested during an interview with Mark Ruffalo, according to People magazine. When a viewer asked Mark Ruffalo if he was still friends with his former co-star, Jennifer Garner, he stated, “We had a great time together, and I think we would, but then Ben came on the scene and that was the end of that.”

The comment about Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck shocked Andy Cohen, who replied, “I heard he doesn’t allow her to have male friends?” Mark Ruffalo made no further comments about Garner or Affleck, but fans and news media outlets have since gone crazy trying to find out the backstory that led to Ruffalo’s comment.

Jennifer Garner can’t be friends with Mark Ruffalo or other male friends.

Mark Ruffalo had made the controversial statement about his friendship with former friend Jennifer Garner on Thursday during an interview with Andy Cohen on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. Ruffalo made the appearance with co-star Keira Knightley in order to plug their new movie Begin Again, according to the Daily Mail.

Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo starred together in the 2004 movie 13 Going On 30, a story about a 13-year-old preteen who woke up the next day on her birthday as a 30-year-old woman. The Jennifer Garner movie also starred Judy Greer and Kathy Baker.

Their onscreen chemistry was amazing — something that many Jennifer Garner fans remember –even today.

Perhaps Ben Affleck’s has a good reason for being jealous of Jennifer Garner’s male costars and male friends. After all, he met former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez on the set of Gigli. Back then, Jennifer Lopez was still married to backup dancer Chris Judd when the rumors began to fly that she was having an affair with Affleck on the set. “She was leaving the house at 5 am and she wouldn’t return until after 10 pm,” Chris Judd’s father stated in an interview with The National Enquirer.

In fact, Jennifer Garner dated Alias co-star Michael Vartan after her first marriage ended, according to a 2005 article in TV Guide. It could be that the Ben Affleck is not willing to take that chance with his wife, Jennifer Garner.

According to author and licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Debbie L. Cherry, a married couple should be careful of opposite-sex relationships because they could lead to emotional connections and emotional affairs. “No matter how happy and secure your marriage, you should always protect your relationship against temptation, deception and potential affairs,” Cherry states.

Aside from that, Jennifer Garner is a very beautiful woman and her friend Mark Ruffalo is a nice looking man… and well, things can happen. Ben is just protecting his marriage with Jennifer Garner, nothing more.
