Rick Ross Drama Continues As Trick Trick Responds To Rumors

The Rick Ross drama that began last weekend in Detroit is continuing nearly a week after the incident occurred. However, fans aren’t really any closer to learning the truth.

According to reports, Ross was all set to perform at Summer Jamz in Detroit on Saturday when he and his crew allegedly encountered a “human blockade.” Apparently some folks weren’t too thrilled about Ross’ involvement with the event, prompting approximately 150 people to gather at the entrance to the venue. In addition to preventing him from entering Chene Park, they reportedly hurled insults and threats in Rick’s general direction.

Some people believe that Detroit rapper Trick Trick masterminded the blockade since Rick Ross never received his blessing to perform in the city. MTV News reports that Trick recently opened up about the situation that unfolded during Summer Jamz, though he really doesn’t provide any concrete details about the incident.

He explained to WorldStarHipHop:

“Concerning myself and that individual, it’s none of your motherf**kin’ business. That’s a grown man, I’m a grown man. Grown men don’t put grown men business out to the motherf**kin’ public.”

Not only is Trick refusing to discuss the matter with anyone, Rick Ross said earlier this week that nothing of the sort took place at Summer Jamz. When Ross and his crew approached the venue, they discovered that the gate was lock. However, venue spokesperson David Rudolph explained that the incident took place outside Chene Park at around 11 pm on Saturday evening.

Rudolph said in a statement:

“And it’s unfortunate that this was a tactic to prevent another artist performing. After nearly four hours of hip-hop groups and emcees rocking the mic the audience was informed by Jay Hicks, HOT 107.5 FM’s program director, that headlining artist and Miami-based rapper Rick Ross would not be performing — as a result a band of individuals led by a local rapper who prevented and threatened to harm Ross if he entered the grounds to perform at Chene Park Amphitheater.”

Other websites claim the Rick Ross situation may have some connection to Trick Trick’s song “No Fly Zone,” a tune that claims rappers who dwell outside Detroit need his approval before performing in the area. If there’s any connection between the song and what happened with Ross, then the rapper is keeping that under his hat.

He explained:

“My ‘No Fly Zone’ ain’t about takin’ nobody’s money. I don’t want your motherf**kin’ money, nobody. What the f**k I look like telling somebody you gotta pay me to come to my town? Don’t you think I’d be in f**kin’ prison if that’s what was going on… The natives have come to support you and be a part of your movement. Don’t turn your ass at ’em, take their money and turn your ass at ’em. And you don’t owe them no money, but respect them.”
