Pippa Middleton TV Interview: Kate Middleton’s Sister Talks With ‘Today’s’ Matt Lauer
Pippa Middleton is giving an exclusive interview next week on NBC’s Today with Matt Lauer. The Today show anchor announced his big reveal Wednesday morning while he sat with Kate Middleton’s younger sister in London. The 30-year-old royal sister-in-law of Prince William will answer questions so many have been curious about since she became famous for her “bum” three years ago as a bridesmaid at Kate and William’s wedding.
Lauer flew overnight to London for the interview. Lauer began his announcement by teasing to viewers:
“I flew overnight to interview someone who’s gotten an awful lot of attention over the past two or three years, yet who has never sat down to do a television interview.”
New York Daily News reports that this will be Pippa’s first-ever TV interview. She hasn’t even interviewed with any of Britain’s news programs. So, for NBC to score such a coveted exclusive, it’s a real feather in the network’s cap.
Pippa says in the preview of her interview:
“I hate to say it, but I was actually in America all of last week.”
E! News adds in its report that Today co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, teased Pippa she should call next time she’s in the United States. Pippa laughed that she “was on a bike.”
The famous aunt to 11-month-old Prince George just completed a 3,000-mile, 12-state bike race for charity. Matt joked that he had to travel 3,000 miles away to talk with her in London instead of while she was in the States for a bike race.
Pippa smiled and laughed along with Matt as spoke via video to his fellow co-anchors at the studio in New York.
Matt Lauer gave very few details about his talk with Pippa Middleton, but he says they discuss the bike event she just rode in and what it’s like to actually be her. Lauer says:
“These have been extraordinary two or three years for Pippa and she talks about that a lot.”
The Today interview with Pippa will be ratings gold for the morning news program because of interest in the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister. Everything Pippa does makes news, even picking up Kate and William’s dog, Lupo, from the dog kennel made big news a few weeks back. Inquisitr kept interested readers up-to-date on that.
The Pippa Middleton interview will air on TV in two parts on Today, Monday, June 30, and Tuesday, July 1.
