Laundromat Nightmare: Innocent Laundry Run Ends In Romantic Disaster For One Guy

A laundromat run is generally one of the most uneventful, routine experiences of the day. Stuff a bunch of clothes in a machine, jam your quarters in, read a magazine for an hour or so. That’s it. You don’t expect an innocent laundry run to end in a relationship disaster — because of someone else’s careless laundromat mistake.

But that — apparently — is exactly what happened to one guy who was the victim (he said) of a previous laundromat patron’s failure to fully empty her dryer. Check out this photo that is already going viral after it appeared on an Instagram account owned by “dezzybooboo3000.”

Right. So, a few things. Right off the bat it should be noted that dezzybooboo3000 was clear in stating that the ladies’ undergarments picture in the photo did not belong to her. She even included the hashtag #notmypanties in the numerous hashtags that accompanied her post.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that the photo was staged and the whole scenario is yet another internet hoax. There seem to be plenty of them going around these days. But for the purposes of discussion let’s assume that it’s 100 percent real.

First of all, who breaks up with someone just because they found something in a laundry basket? We’re guessing that this poor sap’s relationship was already on the rocks. We’re also guessing that the former couple involved can’t be much older than 21 or so. No offense to 20-somethings, but after you’ve been around a while, you learn not to turn every little thing into a federal case.

Second point: Yeah, it’s stupid for the person who used the machine before you to leave something in there, especially an item as personal as these examples of intimate apparel. But it happens, so you need to check the machine before you just blindly chuck your own laundry pile in there. Wake up, man!

Finally, let this be a cautionary tale for all of us. Even a routine trip to the laundromat is fraught with hidden dangers. Always stay alert and never take anything for granted. Especially other people’s underwear.
