WWE News: Connor’s Cure Foundation Established By The Authority

For most of the year, the WWE fans have hated everything Triple H and Stephanie McMahon has done with the WWE. Under the selfish guise of doing what is “best for business,” some creative calls have been very questionable. So when something genuinely honest, kind, and good comes from the Authority, it might make a WWE fan feel apologetic. This is one of those moments because Triple H and Stephanie McMahon established the Connor’s Cure Charity.

According to the initial article by CBS Pittsburgh, Triple H (going by his real name, Paul Levesque) and Stephanie McMahon created the fund in remembrance of Connor Michalek. Earlier, here on The Inquisitr, we reported how the WWE made Connor’s dreams come true. Diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, which is a rare tumor that affects the brain and spinal cord, he wasn’t given much time to live. At eight years old, that should be devastating, especially for parents. However, the WWE gave him something to hold to as they invited him to the WWE where Connor eventually met his favorite wrestler, Daniel Bryan.

WWE truly gave Connor Michalek hope, but it would be near Wrestlemania XXX they’d get some disheartening news: Connor had very little time left. WWE sprung into action, got Connor and his dad up to WWE Monday Night RAW, were he was given the experience of a lifetime: coming out as a WWE superstar to the cheers of other WWE superstars and staff. We can even report that Connor is undefeated in the ring, pinning Triple H after hitting him in the jaw. Then came that one beautiful moment when Daniel Bryan went straight to Connor, asking him to keep fighting on right after he just won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXX.

Sadly, Connor Michalek passed away at the age of eight after Wrestlemania XXX. However, according to Wrestling Inc., his fighting spirit prior to his death made him a local celebrity with a message of light and love that continues to thrive today. WWE recognized that by making this foundation, in which people can donate to it at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.
