Lisa Robin Kelly Overdose And Death Due To Negligence, Claims Widower Robert Gilliam

Lisa Robin Kelly, who is best known for her time on That ’70s Show, where she played the promiscuous older sister of Eric Forman, died tragically of a drug overdose while in a rehab facility in 2013.

TMZ reported that her estranged husband, Robert Gilliam, initiated a lawsuit on June 9 at the Los Angeles Superior Court, suing the yellow Craftsman property in Altadena, where Kelly died.

He claims that Kelly died due to the negligence of the staff at the facility due to the fact they weren’t adequately trained.

Furthermore, he is claiming that as a result of Lisa Robin Kelly’s death he has suffered “loss of love, affection and comfort.”

To make matters even more complicated Kelly’s new boyfriend, who she met after she became estranged from her husband, told TMZ after her death that she had overdosed due to a relapse caused by the physical and emotional abuse she received consistently from Gilliam.

That revelation makes Gilliam’s claim carry even less weight and in fact makes it seem perverse in its essence.

Even though Gilliam vehemently denied the claims that he abused Lisa Robin Kelly saying: “In the last two weeks, she called me 22 times to get away from [the boyfriend],” there were reports around when she was alive of a stormy relationship between the two.

Gilliam also alleges that he was very close with his wife at the time when she died and had even been making arrangements to check her into a different rehab center as he wasn’t satisfied with the care she was receiving at the facility in Altadena.

His claim specifies that he is seeking damages: “Resulting from the loss of love, affection, society, comfort, support… expectations of future support and counselling, companionship, solace and mental support, as well as other benefits and assistance” of Lisa Robin Kelly.

According to many reports, Gilliam’s claim against the rehab facility for damages he sustained most likely won’t see the light of day, nor will it likely be entertained by the Los Angeles Superior Court, although that still remains to be seen.
