Anna Paquin Opens Up About Her ‘True Blood’ Sex Scenes
Anna Paquin recently spoke to E! Online about her various sex scenes in the HBO show True Blood, talking about how awkward it is to fake sex with close friends on the set — sometimes while being directed by her own husband.
“‘Actually, it’s not really uncomfortable because we’re all like kind of cozy and friends,’ Paquin explained at the premiere of ‘True Blood’s’ seventh season. ‘It’s like… I’ll put my leg there, you put your hand there. It’s OK, whatever.'”
In fact, Anna Paquin has had simulated sex with quite a few friends and cast members of the show. Anna admitted, “I’ve had sex with several cast members on the show — obviously, on camera.”
True Blood is an HBO show about a culture of vampires living in Bon Temps, a fictional town in Louisiana. Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress based on the character created by Charlaine Harris in the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels, sometimes called the Sookie Stackhouse Novels.
Paquin is married to True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, who plays southern vampire Bill Compton. The two met on the set of True Blood and now have a set of fraternal twins together. According to the Daily Mail, Paquin and Moyer were spotted biking with their children on Santa Monica Boulevard near their Southern California home on Sunday. The Inquisitr reported on Paquin’s pregnancy in the past.
Moyer’s character is Paquin’s primary love interest in the series, but that doesn’t stop Anna’s character from fooling around with other vampires. The strangest part is that Stephen Moyer has directed a few episodes of True Blood, several of which included sex scenes with Anna Paquin. You’d think it would be incredibly awkward for a husband to direct his own wife having intimate relations with another person, but Paquin insists it’s not that big of a deal. “It should be weird, but it’s not,” Anna told E! Online. “We’re a very tight family.”
Moyer described the process of directing Anna in a sex scene:
“There are moments where I’ll be watching on a monitor [and say], ‘Oh, Joe, just move your hand up towards Anna’s breast. Good. And can you move your right thumb just a little bit…? Great.’ And then I’ll go, ‘Babe, babe, enjoy it.’ I’m certainly talking to her as ‘babe.’ ‘Darling, go for it.'”
In fact, Paquin has said the sex scenes in True Blood could be helping her marriage. Paquin told Entertainment Weekly:
“In a funny way, I feel like — without revealing too much — it’s quite interesting for us as a couple because we’ve kind of gone to places where a lot of people don’t get to. And we’re still here. And I think that’s good for us in a way.”
