Katie Couric Ties The Knot With John Molner At Home In New York

Katie Couric tied the knot on Saturday, making an honest man of financier John Molner, at an intimate ceremony in her East Hampton home in New York.

Shortly after the ceremony, once Couric had said the requisite “I do,” the now 57-year-old veteran journalist, Tweeted: “So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner!”

According to reports, the ceremony, as well as the party that followed, were held at their home, and were intimate affairs attended only by close family members and friends.

Katie Couric looked stunning in an ivory crystal beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown from the house of Carmen Marc Valvo. Couric’s daughters, Ellie, 22 and Carrie, 17, were also in attendance to see their mom happily married, as were Molner’s kids.

Wedding guests revealed to the press that the reception decor looked perfect in Katie Couric’s garden and the elaborate centerpieces, including arrangements of roses, dahlias, and hydrangeas, were stunning.

While the guests enjoyed a delicious meal with strawberry lemon cake for dessert, catered by Topping Rose House of Bridgehampton, they were entertained by music from Hank Lane.

The romance between Couric and Molner started back in 2011 and flourished to the point that the latter popped the question in September 2013. Thankfully, Couric said yes and showed off her lovely engagement ring for the first time while at the US Open in New York.

In January of this year, Couric revealed her summer wedding plans while at Howard Stern’s 60th birthday party: “It will just be a small dinner in New York,” she told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that, in fact, her husband-to-be was “the wedding planner!”

US Weekly found out that Katie Couric chose 45 girlfriends for her hen night, which took place in New York earlier this week. The ladies headed down to Le Midi near to Union Square for dinner and sang songs to each other at the Karaoke Cave located downstairs.

Molner’s bachelor party wasn’t quite as exciting, as he and his buddies embarked on a pub crawl around the Big Apple a few months back.

This is the second marriage for both Katie Couric and John Molner. Couric’s first husband, Jay Monahan, dies tragically in 1988 from colon cancer, and Molner divorced his first wife, Jane a few years ago.
