Natalie Portman Wows Shangai Film Festival With White Dress, New Hair Color

Natalie Portman knows how to work the red carpet and this case, that means literally!

Portman was photographed in China this past week at the the opening of a Miss Dior exhibition on Wednesday night. In town for the Shanghai Film Festival, Natalie, wore a stunning white dress to complement her brand new, lighter hair color.

This is not the first Miss Dior event where Portman has shined. According to the Daily Mail, Portman “has been the face of the Miss Dior fragrances since 2010”. In that time, the Black Swan star has also attended other high profile Miss Dior events and wowed photographers with her elegant sense of style.

E! Online recounts one of those occasions when reminiscing about Portman’s Red Carpet victories of the past. “We loved when the Dior spokesmodel was chic-and-sleek in a strapless top and trouser combo by the label at a Dior exhibition in Paris,” E! writes. “Again, the A-lister stunned in a shimmering white Azzaro column gown, paired with a cool $2 million worth of Tiffany’s jewels at the 2011 SAG Awards.”

Natalie Portman, who just recently celebrated her 33rd birthday, is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in psychology. She also holds dual citizenship in both American and Israel. She started acting when she was just a teenager, in 1994’s The Professional, but really came into the spotlight for her role in the Star Wars prequel movies, starting with Episode I back in 1999.

Her turn as a ballet dancer in the movie Black Swan earned her a Golden Globe and most notably her first Academy Award for Best Actress. Since then she has taken on acting roles sparingly. Most recently, Natalie was cast in the Marvel movie Thor and reprised her role in 2013’s sequel.

Even then, Natalie Portman was celebrated for her stylistic choices during the premiere. Portman donned a dark floral Dior dress at the Thor: The Dark World premiere in Paris that year.

According to Shanghaiist.com, Natalie and Nicole “aren’t the only big names due to walk to red carpet, as over 400 international film stars are expected to attend. Expect to see the likes of Hugh Grant, Kirsten Dunst, as well as Korean stars Rain, Son Tae-yeong and Song Seung-heon.”
