Mom Rips Son’s Scrotum, Tries ‘Fixing’ It With Superglue: Her Sentence, Pathetic

When a mom rips her son’s scrotum with her bare hands in a fit of rage, you would expect the judicial system to come down pretty hard; apparently that isn’t the case.

Jennifer Marie Vargas, 34, was sentenced to just two years in federal prison and five years probation this week. The attack left a tear four centimeters long in the boy’s scrotum.

Upon sentencing, Vargas broke down, WOAI reports. “I regret my actions and I love my children with all my heart. I beg for forgiveness.”

Her son was six years old at the time of the attack, which occurred “because she was angry with him,” Vargas admitted upon arrest. She also attempted to repair the damage she caused with superglue. At no point, however, did she seek medical attention.

That only happened when the boy’s father, who is enlisted in the Army, returned home from work to find his son crying in an upstairs bedroom.

The father was stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, when the child abuse occurred.

When he went to comfort the boy, he spotted bloody tissue in the boy’s underwear and a severe injury to his scrotum. He then took the boy to San Antonio Military Medical Center, according to a criminal complaint affidavit.

In addition to the laceration, he had bruising to his genital area.

“Due to the child’s extreme physical pain, the medical staff had to administer medication,” the affidavit said. “The child was taken into surgery to repair the damage to his scrotum.”

Vargas said she grabbed the boy by the scrotum and pulled him toward her as hard as she could, “thereby ripping his ‘sack’ and causing a laceration,” the report read.

She later tried to clean the wound with alcohol and then applied the superglue “until the bleeding stopped.”

Her next step was to stuff his underwear with paper towels.

Child Protective Services confirmed that they had never dealt with Vargas or the family before.

The child is reportedly recovering and doing well in school. His father has since filed for divorce.

Unfortunately, child abuse is an epidemic not just in the U.S., but the world at large. In a recent case The Inquisitr reported on, 19-year-old Dean Harris from England kicked his girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter so hard her liver actually broke in half.

As with Vargas, Harris’ “confession” did as much as possible to make the act look as if it were an accident. In that case, the child died.
