Is Charlie Hunnam dead? That’s the question that tons of Sons Of Anarchy fans are asking themselves after several internet hoaxes killed the actor off. According to MediaMass.net, people are getting duped left and right after a Facebook page was set up to “honor” the “fallen” actor who “died in a car crash.” That Facebook page reached nearly 1 millions “likes” before it was taken down.

The page was started on Sunday and had the following description for “fans”:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (June 15, 2014), our beloved actor Charlie Hunnam passed away. Charlie Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

Other Charlie Hunnam dead rumors have been circulating thanks to a message that friends are sharing on Facebook. The link goes to “GOOGONLINE.COM,” which is meant to look like “Google” — and be convincing. Once you click on the link, however, it brings you directly to a page that says, “You Got Owned.” It appears as though the actor’s “death” is being used as a prank. Fans who see the article but choose not to click actually believe that Hunnam has died, and that’s why the rumors keep on circulating.

A rep for the actor debunked the rumors on Monday:

“[Charlie] joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.”

There are always celebrity death hoaxes floating around the internet — this isn’t anything new. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, actor Lou Ferrigno was the last celebrity to have the “honor” bestowed upon him. Thousands of people fell for the hoax, actually believing that The Hulk star had passed away.

Ferrigno took to Facebook to clear up the rumor himself:

“I’m on my way to the bank. It’s a great Wednesday, beautiful and sunny. I’m not dead. I’m still alive. Don’t believe everything that you hear or what you read. Just want to say I love you so much. Thank you for your concern. Thank you all. I’m going to live a long time, kid!”
