Britney Spears Fan Replaces Her With Self In New Video: See If You Can Tell

Britney Spears’ fans are some of the most unique you’ll see in the world of entertainment.

Ever since the singer’s epic meltdown of 2008 and the resulting tear-filled plea to “Leave Britney alone!” heard ’round the ‘Net, they have shown their undying support no matter what.

The most recent example of fan devotion comes from Gal Volinez, who has taken the Britney Spears “Work B*tch” video and replaced her with himself — with the correct choreography and everything.

Only difference: Volinez doesn’t look a whole lot like Britney. Of course, that may be an unfair bit of editorializing. Why not see for yourself?

YouTube comments have ranged from the supportive to the cruel wishes of death that we’ve come to expect from everyone’s favorite online commenting community.

Spears has not issued a comment on the video at this time, though if her response is anything like the one from Celine Dion to a devoted fan who used an overnight stay in an airport to film his own tribute to the singer’s “All By Myself,” she probably won’t mind.

Like Volinez’ efforts or not, he’s amassed more than 420,000 views so far with over 500 comments.

That’s a far cry from Spears’ own 111 million views for the actual vid — in fact, it’s one of the most viewed Britney Spears music videos of all time — but for an internet nobody, it’s pretty darn good.

Here’s Britney’s actual video if you want to do a comparison of the two.

The act of fan devotion offers some welcome positive press for Spears, who has wrestled with her detractors over the decision to lip sync at her Las Vegas show.

Adam Leber, a member of Britney’s managing team, came forward last week in order to admit the former Disney star had actually been lip-syncing her way through her entire Las Vegas contract.

According to Medium, Leber said, “To put on the show that she puts on, it’s virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does. She’s singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There’s no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time.”

The admission was long overdue after a video surfaced in February showing Spears not singing during one of her songs.
