iPhone 6 Picture Leaked Side By Side With iPhone 5c

Pictures of the long-rumored iPhone 6 have shown up on the internet thanks to Chinese celebrity Jimmy Lin.

Lin, who was among the first to leak photos of the iPhone 5c before it was announced, posted the image to a Twitter-like microblogging site, according to NDTV:

“Lin has shared an image of himself holding two iPhone devices – an iPhone 5 in Black and another smartphone, claimed to be the iPhone 6, in Silver colour. Lin posted the image, first spotted GforGames, on Sina Weibo, which is the Chinese micro-blogging equivalent to Twitter, and also shared his first-hand experience with the alleged iPhone 6.”

The website claimed that the new iPhone, likely to release later this year, will probably have two different screen size options — a 4.7 or a 5.5-inch device.

“According to Lin, the alleged iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch display has a great display and is easy to grip despite of its large display size. Further, in-line with earlier leaks, Lin notes that the rumoured iPhone 6’s sides houses the power button positioned on the right panel of the device, instead on the top panel seen on current iPhone models. Meanwhile, the side panel houses slightly modified volume buttons on the alleged iPhone 6.”

NDTV goes on to say that website Macfixit has also released what it says are several photos of the rumored iPhone 6, which appear to show a device NDTV described as having taken “design cues from Apple’s current generation iPod touch. The leaked images also suggest that the next generation iPhone would come with curved edges.”

With the new iPhone 6 coming out, at least according to pictures floating on the internet, the question is what happens to the iPhone 5c? According to the website Cult of Mac, it appears that analysts are ready to see the cheaper of the iPhone models go the way of the dinosaur, but the company isn’t making any indication that such a move is imminent.

“Killing a product only a year into its life cycle would be a bold move by Apple, but with new 8GB iPhone 5c units being offered in Europe and India, Apple seems prepared to keep the 5c fighting against low-cost Android handsets for at least another year.”

The leaked photos of the supposed iPhone 6 are just the latest in the iPhone rumor mill, with The Inquisitr previously reporting that Apple may do away with headphone jacks on the new models, replacing the headphone jacks with lightning ports.
