WWE News: Sting Set For WWE 2K15, And Has Finally Signed A WWE Contract?

WWE has made a lot of things happen in 2013 and 2014. Big changes have happened, some for the bad and others for the good. All will take time to really do well, but one thing WWE has actively tried to accomplish in 2014 was to sign Pro-Wrestling Icon Sting. They have come close to signing him numerous times over the years but they could never get it done, as Sting always chose to sign back with TNA Wrestling.

WWE seems to finally have the legend signed now however, as WWE looks to be in the process of hiring people to help set up a big welcome to the WWE. A debut of sorts. Here is a small bit of what PW Insider reported regarding this elaborate potential debut:

“The breakdown included a listing for a Sting body double, age 38-50, who is, 6-foot-2, 250 pounds of pure muscle. Prefer a guy with wrestling experience, very fit. HEAVILY muscular. Slightly longer dark hair. Will have a full face of make up on. Paying a higher rate as we need a GREAT double for this.”

WWE plans to do some elaborate stuff to I assume prep people for Sting’s debut in the coming months, whenever it might be. They may be using a double for TV so that Sting does not have to appear. Or they plan to use the double for some weird video package. We will have to see. This is not the only thing WWE is planning with Sting either.

WWE listed a casting call for musicians that would play in an orchestra. They would fake play instruments with music playing over them, all while wearing full Sting make up. The call is clearly labeled as a WWE “Promo,” meaning it’s clearly being used for something regarding Sting for RAW or SmackDown. Of course, that’s not even all of this story.

They are also going to use the music for the WWE 2K15 video game spots, which Sting has agreed to be in similar to the Ultimate Warrior last year. Sting is set to be a downloadable character or pre-order bonus like Warrior as well. So they obviously will need to do some sort of promotional spot for that, which is where the doubles and music could come from.

Ultimate Warrior ended up signing a multi-year Legends Deal with WWE plus other incentives. Sadly he passed before WWE could use him for the several projects they had in mind for him. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as well this past year. Sting could be inducted as well. WrestleMania 31 will be in California this year and Sting is known to be from the area, so it would be the perfect place to induct him.

There is a lot of speculative stuff right now, so it’s tough to really know exactly where WWE is going. Most places do not want to say that Sting has signed yet, though some have stated that he has. The issue is that this has been done numerous times now so it is hard to know which is true. This time, however, I think we can feel pretty safe knowing that Sting is most likely going to sign soon if he hasn’t already. It would be doubtful WWE would go to so much trouble only to not sign someone.
