Two Women Busted At Airport With Cocaine Condoms Allegedly In Their Vagina, Rectum
Two women are due back in court on June 24 in connection with allegedly stuffing cocaine-filled condoms into their body cavities.
Could this alleged drug-smuggling incident possibly give a new definition to “mile-high club”?
Authorities arrested the two women, both in their 20s, at Chicago’s Midway International Airport after they got off a plane flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica.
A drug-sniffing canine apparently alerted customs officers to the contraband with regard to one of the passengers, according to the Chicago Tribune. One of the women reportedly admitted to authorities that she was transporting about 149 grams of cocaine wrapped in condoms in her vagina. The coke has an estimated street value of about $19,000.
Officers reportedly found about the same amount of coke in the rectal area of the other woman who was also on the same Jamaica-to-Chicago flight. Police have yet to disclose what led them to detain the second woman at the airport, however.
Both Chicago-area residents were charged with possession of a controlled substance, a felony. The court subsequently released them pending the upcoming court appearance but with an electronic monitoring device.
In a separate incident previously reported by The Inquisitr, a Texas commercial pilot called 911 for medical help late last month when one of the 62 swallowed bags of cocaine he was allegedly smuggling burst inside his stomach sometime during a plane flight from Colombia to Houston. He was a passenger at the time of the incident.
Last year, a Canadian social worker flying from Colombia was arrested at a Bogota airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine in a fake pregnancy belly that was meant to make her look like she was expecting.
According to Chicago Magazine, both Midway and O’Hare airports, which combined handled a staggering 81 million passengers in the year 2009, “are frequently used by traffickers to smuggle illicit drugs into the Chicago area.”
